List of Unlawful Forest Reserves Taking from New Mexico Territory, Indian Tribes and heirs of Spanish and Mexican Land Grants between 1902 and 1908

The following is a list of President Theodore Roosevelt's unlawful Proclamations (Executive Orders) establishing and increasing the size of forest reserves. The fact that they were unlawfully taken is found in a number of Indian Claims Commission findings which stated that in the cases considered the ICC found that consideration was not paid for the taking and that the Pueblos were entitled to be paid for the unlawful taking. By the time the ICC had completed its consideration of all the claims of unlawful taking the government had paid out in excess of $800,000,000 to Indian tribes who had had their land unlawfully taken.
In one case in particular, the Jemez, Zia and Santa Ana Pueblos were found to have had over 26,000 acres of their land unlawfully taken by the establishment of the Jemez Forest Reserve.
The establishment of the Jemez Forest Reserve also took 800,000 acres from previous Spanish and Mexican Land Grants and 600,000 acres of New Mexico Territorial land, none of which was ever paid for or returned as the ICC did not provide States, Territories or Spanish and Mexican Land Grants the authority to seek justice for the unlawful taking:
